    Most trainees choose to cover their fees through student finance or using their tuition fee loan.

    The cost of the programme (for a full-time trainee) is around £9535 for the year. This covers both the Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) award and the opportunity to gain a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with 60 Masters level credits, delivered in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University.

    Fees are paid directly to the Five Counties SCITT.

    If you choose to self-finance, flexible payment options are available:

    • Single payment at start of course
    • 3 instalments split across the academic year
    • 10 equal monthly instalments between Oct and July

    Don’t let the costs scare you – bursaries and student support are available for certain subjects. Information on funding is available on the gov.uk website: 

     

     
    Additional information

    Book lists are recommended but not compulsory. You will access to an extensive online library.

    Note: there will be an expectation to budget for travel costs to placements as there is no additional funding available for this.
